MY REFLECTIONS TO STATISTICS ACCORDING TO MODULE ( Prof. Ava Claire Marie O. Robles, Ph. D. )

Module 1: INTRODUCTION TO EDUCATIONAL STATISTICS
              First day of school....be focused.....
It was my first day of school as a masteral students.I'm quite nervous since I knew that my classmate was already on their second year. But I was able to overcome it, because my classmate are approachable and kind. Thanks to them.
Our first topic was discussed by our professor. It was all about introducing statistics. At first, I find it hard to understand because it involves numbers and I know that I'm not good in that areas. Second, I'm still adjusting to my new environment. .

Module 2: VARIABLES: THE SUBJECT MATTER OF STATISTICS AND RESEARCH
The second module was still discussed to us by our professor. She was able to deliver the lesson in a manner  that a learner can easily understand the lesson if they just give their time and attention.
A variable based in the handouts, is simply defined as something that varies or any  observation/characteristics that can assume different values. It may represent persons or object that can be controlled or manipulated in a research study.
It is very much important to statistics, one cannot perform or conduct a study or experiment if there is no variable.

Module 3: INTEGRATION OF INNOVATION IN STATISTICS
               Be innovative........
This was the time that we gonna start to make our blog as an application of technology in our subject (statistics ). At first, I was a little bit nervous because back to my experiences in high school, I had a phobia in computer. But then I realized that in this age of computer, as a teacher, I had to involved myself to be globally competitive.
The E- portfolio for statistics is one of the important innovation nowadays that can help a lot in saving our environment. Here, everyone can be able to make portfolio without using plastic or paper materials that can harm or destroy our mother earth.

Module 4: MEASURES OF CENTRAL LOCATION
It was our second day of school and the topic is about measures of central  location. This topic was discussed to us  by one of my classmate in college.
Honestly speaking, the topic was quite easy and simple since it was already taught when were still in high school or college. Among the three measures of central tendency, I think the easiest and commonly used is the mean. It is commonly used by the teachers in computing the grades of their pupils. But then when we had our quiz, I find out that there are still topics which I do not know.

Module 5: MEASURES OF VARIATION
               Determination........
Still this topic was discussed on the second day of meeting. Some terminologies in this topic was new to me, especially the terms:quartile deviation, variance and coefficient of variation. If someone ask me about this terms, surely I cannot reply.
Before the start of reporting, I had a lot of  queries in my mind. So when the reporting start, I listened well. I review my notes after the class and I also borrowed books from the library to better understand the topic. Determination is important if you want something to get or achieved.

Module 6: MEASURES OF CORRELATION
               Nothing is impossible......
Measures of correlation was the topic assign to us to report. Before the day of reporting, our group  met at Fit Mart Mall of Marbel to plan and discussed the problem we encounter during the research of our topic so that we can solve it. I am very much thankful to my group because they are willing to help every time I ask their help, especially in making powerpoint presentation. I learned in this module that nothing is impossible if everyone is working and cooperating.

Module 7: THE NORMAL PROBABILITY DISTRIBUTION
This topic evolve under the normal curve...
In probability theory, the normal (or Gaussian) distribution, is a continuous probability distribution that is often used as a first approximation to describe real-valued random variables that tend to cluster around a single mean value.
Module 8: SAMPLING THEORIES AND HYPOTHESIS TESTING
              Fair and just........
This topic was discussed to us clearly  by the reporter. What I've learned in this topic was that their is certain benefits and limitations in sampling. And there are also different sampling designs to choose from  if ever you are going to conduct a study. But it must be based on your study.
They also discussed about hypothesis. From my prior learning or own understanding about hypothesis, it is a statement of assumption or guessing. It can only be proven after we conduct and analyze the data. And in every study that we conduct, we have to be fair and just to produce a very good result.

Module 9: THE T- TEST, Z- TEST AND CHI- SQUARE TEST
              Patience......
The T- test, Z- test, and Chi- Square test are under parametric test. During the reporting of this topic, I was not around  because we are called by the graduate school coordinators to attend the orientation for the new students of the graduate school.
When I review this topic by my own I was really stressed. There are a lot of formulas involved,so I try my best to scan my notes just to be familiarized in the formula. I learned how to be patient in this topic.

Module 10: ANALYSIS OF VARIANCE (ANOVA)
              Perseverance.......
Anova is still under common parametric test. It was discovered by Ronald Fisher (a Statistician and Geneticist) around 1981.
When  I read my notes about this topic. I told myself, "Ano ba kaya ko pa ba to?". But then I keep convincing myself, kakayanin ko to. Sabi nga sa kanta, "there's a sunshine after the rain"..  I think the keyword is perseverance.

Module 11: LINEAR AND MULTIPLE REGRESSION ANALYSIS
At last , we ended it up.This is the last module  reported by the last reporter. This time we are in a hurry in order to finish  everything, because next meeting will be our exam day. Seeing my handouts with a lot of formulas...ito na ata ang sinasabing kailangang magsunog ng kilay...

Module 12: COMPUTER STATISTICAL APPLICATIONS (SYNTHESIS)
                  Showcasing......
On this day, we are going to showcase our blog.
          Goodluck to all my classmates!!!!!!!!
